Our next meeting is Tuesday 5/11, 7 pm in room 201 of the Methodist church on Harney St.
After growing to almost 10 members last fall, we are back down again to 4 regularly attending members. Part of the curse of a college town - people are always moving on. However, that also means new people are arriving, too. So we are hoping for more newcomers to the group!

new night and room for writer's group
We are now meeting on Tuesday nights, every other week, in room 210 of the Methodist church. Tonight (Nov 10) is a meeting night. We've had several new people start attending this fall, so we are up to about 5-8 attendees, depending on the night. This fall we have had people sharing chapters from novels, short stories, poetry, and articles. Lots of diversity. Come and check us out! You don't have to share anything unless you want to. Email me at berendsen70@yahoo.com for guidelines or if you just want more details!

Welcome to the Laramie Writer's Group.
We are for anyone who loves to write - whether it's fiction, non-fiction, poetry, plays, memoirs, lyrics, or anything else you can think of.
The group is currently meeting every other Wednesday, 7:00 pm, at the Methodist Church Wesley Lounge (we are not affliated with the church, they are just kind enough to offer us a free place to meet)
Most of the time we meet to read each other's work and critique it (critiquing includes both "this is what I liked" and "this is what didn't work for me" kind of comments... we have critiquing guidelines which I will post soon)
Sometimes at our meetings we will do a writing exercise. This can be anything from "write anything you want for the next ten minutes" to creating a crazy story by everyone writing a sentence and then passing it on for the next person to add to.
